Neymar congratulates Cristiano Ronaldo on winning the FIFA Ballon d’Or 2013
The FIFA Ballon d’or 2013 ceremony was held last Monday night, in Zurich and the big winner was Real Madrid forward, Cristiano Ronaldo. The Portuguese has edged all the competition, leaving Barcelona‘s Lionel Messi in the 2nd place and Bayern Munich‘s Franck Ribery in 3rd.
Following Ronaldo‘s high emotional speech where he couldn’t hold off his tears, several football celebrities have rushed to congratulate the Portuguese forward on winning his 2nd FIFA Ballon d’Or of his career. One of those celebrities was precisely Neymar.
Neymar: “Every one who plays this game knows exactly how hard it is to win awards and especially one as difficult as the FIFA Ballon d’Or. I was obviously rooting for my Barça teammate, Lionel Messi, but at the end of the day this was a fair outcome. Cristiano Ronaldo is also an idol for me, so I would like to congratulate him for this very particular victory!”, remarked the 21-year Brazilian.
Barcelona will now take on Getafe for the Copa del Rey‘s 2nd leg, right this Thursday night.
