Barcelona suffered their second straight loss in La Liga, this time after getting beaten at home by 0-1, against Celta de Vigo. The Blaugrana were trying to bounce back from a negative result in the Santiago Bernabéu earned just a week ago, but their opponents this Saturday night weren’t exactly in the mood to play the victim role.
Luis Enrique was keen to lineup again his new attacking trio formed by Neymar, Messi and Suárez, but the truth is that just like it had happened against Real Madrid last weekend, the three are still looking for the best way to understand each other on the pitch.
Celta de Vigo resisted to Barça‘s attacking intents throughout the whole game and still showed enough strengths to put the hosts on their back foot through a few counter-attacks. The only goal of the game arrived in the 55th minute, when a former Barcelona player decided to serve the ball up on a platter for a teammate of his to go 1-on-1 against Bravo. The assist came in the shape of a back-heel pass provided by Nolito and the play was finished by Larrivey, who didn’t lose his composure in front of goal to shock the Barcelona fans at the Camp Nou and make it 0-1 to Celta de Vigo.
Neymar has proven to be one of the most active players for the hosts, but the best he managed to do was to hit the woodwork in a couple of tries. Celta de Vigo completed the full 90 minutes of the game without conceding any and snatched the 3 from the Camp Nou.
Barcelona‘s next game is next Wednesday against Ajax, in the UEFA Champions League 4th round of fixtures.
