Barcelona are back to the winning track and this Saturday they basically picked apart Granada at the Camp Nou. The Blaugranas dictated their law in their own ground and dispatched the visitors with a 6-0 win that clearly shows who was the dominating side on the pitch.
Neymar was the star of the show, after scoring his first ever league hat-trick for Barcelona. The first goal took place in the 26th minute, when the Brazilian ace saw his shot taking a deflection on a defender’s legs and going over the goalkeeper’s head. In the 42nd minute of the game, Barça got to their second goal after a great play from Lionel Messi on the right, who managed to dribble a defender near the end line and then put a great cross into the box for Rakitic to finish it off with a clean header.
The 3-0 was the result of an attacking play involving the 3-men upfront. Lionel Messi first assisted Munir for a good 1-on-1 chance against Granada‘s goalkeeper, but the two ended up clashing on the ground and the ball rebounded to Neymar‘s feet. The 22-year old didn’t waste time and immediately pushed it into the back of the net. The 4-0 happened around the 61st minute and it was finally Lionel Messi who got to score this time. A great long pass from Xavi found Daniel Alves on the right, who brilliantly sent in a great first-touch cross so that Messi could finish it with his head on the far post. Terrific play from the hosts who were already in cruise control against a very fragile Granada side.
Two more goals were still to be scored in this game though and the 5-0 came in when Neymar completed his hat-trick. The Brazilian international picked up another assist from Lionel Messi inside the box and with all the time in the world at his disposal, he had no trouble in beating Granada‘s goalkeeper for the third time on the night. The last goal of the game was scored already inside the last 10 minutes of the game, on a play where Messi stole the possession in Granada‘s own half and then ran straight into the goalkeeper’s direction to score another brace for Barcelona.
Next Tuesday the UEFA Champions League returns and there’s a great match in prospect in Paris, with a PSG vs Barcelona taking place at the Parc des Princes. On that very same day and starting at the same time, there’s also another great match to follow closely, the Manchester City vs AS Roma clash that is set to be played at the Etihad.
