Barcelona didn’t have any trouble to come out of Levante‘s stadium with the 3 points this Sunday night and the 0-5 in the score line basically speaks for itself. Luis Enrique presented a strong lineup in the Stadium Ciutat de Valencia and his pupils didn’t let him down.
The opener came in around the 34th minute, when a great pass from Lionel Messi allowed Neymar to go 1-on-1 with Levante‘s goalkeeper. With one touch, the Brazilian immediately got around Jesus and then easily finished it off when all he had in front was an empty net. The second goal was still scored before the half-time break and it was a quite special goal for the man responsible for it. Ivan Rakitic found the back of the net through a great mid-range shot from outside the box and finally scored his first goal as a Barcelona player.
Shortly after the second half had started, Neymar was substituted by Sandro, due to a knock he had suffered in his back and which seems to have worried Barcelona‘s doctor. It would be Sandro precisely, who would score the third goal in the game minutes after he came in. Just like in the opening goal, Messi provided the assist and this time, the Canterano finished it off with a clinical right-foot strike.
The 0-4 was the result of a great team play from three Barcelona players. Jordi Alba combined extremely well with Sandro on the left attacking side and after going all the way down to the end line, he assisted Pedro in the middle of the box for an easy tap-in goal. The Blaugranas‘ tally in this game would only be completed with the inevitable Lionel Messi joining the scorers sheet. The Argentinian star got to his 3rd goal of the season after playing around with a couple Levante defenders and then with a classy touch, sending the ball over Jesus in order to set the final score in 0-5.
The Spanish League action continues right next Tuesday, first with a Real Madrid vs Elche at the Bernabéu and then the day after, with a Malaga vs Barcelona game at the La Rosaleda.
