Brazil and Colombia clashed again in what was a re-edition of this last World Cup quarter-finals and just like it had happened in Fortaleza on July 4, it was the “Escrete” walking away with the victory, this time with a 1-0 win.
One of the main points of interest in this game was to see how Neymar and Zuniga would get along on the pitch. The Colombian defender injured the Barcelona ace during that quarter-finals clash roughly a couple months ago and has basically left Neymar without any chance of still playing in the remaining rounds of the tournament.
The game ended up being very well disputed by both sides and the major difference only came through a moment of brilliance from Neymar near the end of the second half. Brazil‘s number 10 and captain on the night scored the only goal in the game from a terrific free-kick near one of the edges of Colombia‘s box and delivered a very tasty victory in Dunga‘s first game as Brazil‘s coach.
Brazil next game will be against Ecuador on September 9 and even though Dunga is expected to bring on a few changes to his starting lineup, Neymar will probably keep his starting spot.
