Full-time: Granada 1-0 Barcelona
Goals: Brahimi (16′)
Match date: April 12, 2014
Stadium: Estadio Nuevo Los Cármenes

Barcelona line-up: Pinto, Adriano, Mascherano, Busquets, Montoya, Song, Iniesta, Fabregas, Neymar, Lionel Messi, Pedro.
It has been a “horribilis week” for Barcelona, as they earned their second straight loss by 1-0, this time against Granada. After having lost by the exact same result in the Vicente Calderón in mid-week, the Blaugrana traveled to Granada knowing that they had no margin for error if they still wanted to dream of having good chances to renew the title this season. However, things didn’t go the way Tato Martino expected and Barça ended up stumbling again, dropping from 2nd to 3rd place in La Liga standings. Neymar and Messi were in the starting line-up, but both lacked effectiveness in front of goal in several occasions.
Granada‘s winning goal was scored around the 16th minute of the first half, when the hosts engaged in a fast attack that only needed to get 4 players involved to send the ball into the back of Barcelona‘s net. The goal was scored by Brahimi, the Algeria international currently playing his 2nd second season in Spain. Barça‘s defense was beaten way too easily and this might have been a crucial fixture in terms of determining this year’s Spanish champions.
Atletico Madrid are now 4 points on top of Barcelona (3rd), and have Real Madrid (2nd) also chasing them 3 points below. Next Wednesday we’ll have the Copa del Rey final in Valencia, with a thrilling Real Madrid vs Barcelona kicking off at 21:30 (Spanish local time).
